Weddings can be so costly enough with dress, flowers, cake, suits, rings, reception...and then there all the "extras"!
I am constantly on the look out for some ideas to help reduce the financial worries.
Here is the first in a series of cost-saving ideas that are easy on the wallet, as well as on the eye!
A friend and I made lots of flax flowers for bouquets, button holes and table decorations. As well as looking incredible on the day, because the flax has dried the bouquets also become a keepsake as well. How cool is that?! They were unique and got lots of glowing comments.
Here is a photo of the bridesmaid's bouquet on the day - some we dyed to create a contrasting red, to tie in with the colours of the wedding:
And here is a picture of some of the flax flowers from some of the displays (not the bouquet flowers above), once they have aged and dried. If the flax is not dyed it ages to a lovely range of golden brown colours.

This is just one way a wedding can be made memorable and special without blowing the budget. Stay tuned for more ideas!
